Cyclone Launches Embedded RAID Products for Windows 2000

NEW HAVEN - Cyclone Microsystems Inc. has announced Windows 2000 host support for its four-port, two-port and single-port RAID products: the CPCI-945, the CPCI-946 and the PMC 57 Ultra2 SCSI RAID Controllers, respectively. All three RAID Controllers provide fault-tolerant storage and maximum data availability for high-performance embedded systems with Windows 2000 hosts. Designed for a wide range of reliable storage, the three products offer OEMs the capability of adding RAID technology on a 64-bit CompactPCI or PMC bus. Cyclone's intelligent RAID controllers perform all RAID functions independent of the host processor.
Intel's i960RN Intelligent I/O processor off loads the host processor by driving disk array controller functions like parity generation, RAID algorithms, striping algorithms and cache management. An integrated RAID management software package called MegaRAID is also offered. The RAID utilities, manage and configure the RAID system while MegaRAID creates and manages multiple disk arrays, controls and monitors multiple RAID servers and provides error statistics logging and online maintenance. The MegaRAID Self Monitoring Analysis and Recovery Technology (SMART) detects up to 70 percent of all predictable drive failures.
