ROCKY HILL - The latest edition of Ernst & Young's Biotechnology Report has ranked Connecticut seventh in the nation, relative to population, with respect to the number of biotechnology companies now operating within its borders. The report, considered to be a key reference for entrepreneurs and investors in this field, places Connecticut ahead of such states as Georgia, Florida, Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania and Texas. Only longer-established biotechnology centers such as Massachusetts, Maryland, California, North Carolina, New Jersey and Washington outpaced the Nutmeg State.
