CiDRA Completes Sale of Optical Sensing Systems

WALLINGFORD - CiDRA Corp., a provider of optical components and subsystems for the next generation of optical telecommunications networks, announced that it has completed the sale of its Optical Sensing Systems (OSS) business to Weatherford International Inc. The sale totaled $127.5 million and consideration was paid in both cash and stock. CiDRA's products include the AgileWave Dynamic Spectral Equalizer, the industry's first optical networking product to feature Texas Instruments Digital Light Processing technology, the AgileWave Tunable Bandpass Filter and AgileWave Optical Channel Monitor. The company will also maintain and support a contract with Weatherford, as it continues to leverage the success of fiber optic technology in the oil and gas industry.
Founded in 1996, CiDRA Corporation designs, manufactures and markets component, module and subsystem products for dynamic routing, monitoring and conditioning of optical signals for optical telecommunications network.
