Hands Across Connecticut
The rollout campaign for newcomer lender Guaranty Mortgage & Financial Services features pitches from ordinary Joes and Janes - as depicted by the type of handpuppets made famous by Señor Wences.
The handimonials are the brainchild of Russ Madison, a veteran ad man known as Lone Wolf, working as GoodWolf, a subsidiary of Goodwick Associates in Newtown.
Madison says the campaign, which will run in print, radio and television, delivers hard-sell messages in a friendly, soft-sell way, using talking hands instead of talking heads.
Presto, Portfolio
Granite Bay Design of Branford has increased its profile on the Internet with a new web site. Browsers can now look at the company's portfolio featuring some of its designs for web sites and print. Founded 12 years ago by owner and creative director Paul Kazmercyk, the graphic design studio has local and national clients. .Hospital Has Unusually Long Lifeline...
The challenge: Create a dominant visual impact in the spacious University of Hartford Sports Center. The solution: Use special output technology and equipment to produce eight individual panels - then join them to create a single image 30 feet long by eight feet high.
Primary Colour Laboratories of Hartford designed, imaged, and produced the huge timeline display for the 1997 Miracles gala, a black-tie affair attended by more than 1,400 people. The event and the display celebrated 100 years of achievement and community service by Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Center.
Atlantic Group to Position Perkin-Elmer Division Globally
The Analytical Instruments Division of Norwalk's Perkin-Elmer has retained the Atlantic Group for a multi-year, global marketing communications relationship. The division is the world's second largest manufacturer of analytical instruments.
Stephanie Primm, president of the Atlantic Group, expects to develop an aggressive, integrated campaign that positions the high-tech company as a progressive global source for scientific solutions. The Norwalk marketing firm will develop a strategic communications program including advertising, direct mail, collateral and digital sales tools, Web site enhancement and relationship marketing.
She's MADD!
Joyce A. Pellegrino has joined Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) as director of development and community relations for the organization's Woodbridge-based state office. She will be seeking support for MADD's mission - to modify attitudes toward drinking and driving - from members of the business community, statewide agencies and media.
Seminar on Integrated Marketing Communications
The Marketing & Communications Council of Central Connecticut, in conjunction with the University of Hartford School of Communication, will present a seminar on integrated marketing communications (IMC) on Tuesday, November 18, from 7:30 a.m. until noon. Integrating Marketing Communications: Moving from Strategy to Implementation will be held at the University of Hartford's Harry Gray Conference Center in West Hartford.
