HARTFORD - Approximately 1,000 high school and middle school students from across Connecticut visited manufacturing and technology companies during the Connecticut Business & Industry Association's (CBIA) Get Tech Day on November 14. More than 40 companies hosted groups of students to show them the kinds of careers available using technology in the state. Manufacturing and technology companies require workers at all levels to have strong math, science and technical skills as well as good communication and teamwork skills. The students, from more than 33 Connecticut schools, got a chance to talk to people in a variety of occupations to learn firsthand about the jobs available to all levels of graduates, from those with high school diplomas through technical and college degrees.
CBIA holds the Get Tech Day program each year in partnership with the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM).
