TRUMBULL - Integrating voice and fax applications in voice-processing systems may get cheaper and easier to implement if the Trumbull-based BICOM Inc. has anything to do about it. BICOM is a leading supplier of DSP-based voice processing PC-based computer boards for use in creating voice-processing systems, and has now begun shipping BICOMFAX.
The new software-based product allows voice processing system developers to add complete fax capabilities without adding additional and costly single-function fax boards typically found in voice processing systems. The software, from Commetrx of Norcross, Ga., includes fax send, receive, turnaround polling, file format conversions and a fax description language to facilitate the creation of faxes containing both text and images.
