OXFORD - In 1998, when Oxford reaches its 200th birthday, no one will be able to accuse it of not keeping up with the times. The Valley town has beat most of its larger brethren onto the Information superhighway with a comprehensive World Wide Web site on the Internet: http://www.vfr.com/oxford.
There, surfers will find more information than they probably want about the town, including the its complete charter, indexed for easy access. Also included are local classifieds, a What's Happening? listing, and extensive town government and demographic data. The town's planning and zoning regulations will be available shortly. Also to be found is a link to the World Wide Web site for the United Way of Naugatuck Valley: http://www.vfr.com/vuw/. The United Way site includes a listing of more than two dozen United Way agencies, including a description of their services and how to reach them. Why all this small-town high-tech activity? Just ask VFR Computing of Oxford at jmj@vfr.com., or visit at http://www.vfr.com.
