QU Biz School Gets Gift

HAMDEN - Nationwide Insurance will donate $50,000 to Quinnipiac University toward the development of a $1 millionFinancial Technology Center in QU's Lender School of Business Center.
The center, scheduled to open during the academic year beginning in September, will have 30 flat-screen workstations that will be able to access real-time data from Reuters, Bloomberg, Bridge and Dow Jones Telerate. Students and professionals will have financial resources to provide instantaneous information on world markets and socioeconomic, political and international events that impact the U.S. and world economies.
Phil Frese, dean of QU's business school, says students enrolledin finance, economics, accounting and marketing will be able to access, compare and analyze financial data, forecast market trends, simulate live trades and economic and market outcomes based on limitless variables. Advertising students can use the databases to determine national and international marketing trends and develop their team and individual marketing plans on an array of services and information.
