National Mentoring Month is a new initiative spearheaded by the Harvard Mentoring Project in collaboration with the National Mentoring Partnership. As part of this effort, the Governor's Prevention Partnership in Connecticut is teaming up with leading communications companies to create an annual, concentrated burst of local and national media activity combined with extensive community outreach.
National Mentoring Month aims to raise awareness of mentoring in its various forms; recruit individuals to mentor; and promote the rapid growth of mentoring by recruiting organizations. Connecticut is focusing on encouraging local businesses to start or expand mentoring programs.
