BRANFORD - Branford Mobil of Branford, owned by Alphonse Paolillo, was named Employer of the Year by Marrakech Inc. at its 13th annual awards dinner earlier this month in New Haven.
Branford Mobil provides vocational experience for students leaving high school, set up an on-the-job apprenticeship for a young man interested in automotive mechanic work, and hired persons with various disabilities. Marrakech executive director Frank McCarthy said the Paolillo family has provided “opportunities for vocational and personal growth, and enormous and generous support,” to the organization and those it serves.
Founded in 1971, Marrakech is a private, non-profit serving more than 900 individuals with mental and physical disabilities, as well as those facing economic barriers, through programs to meet housing, employment, training and community experience needs. Based in Woodbridge, Marrakech has service branches in New Haven, Cheshire, Bridgeport, Waterbury and New Milford, and operates group homes and apartment programs in greater New Haven, Waterbury and Fairfield County.
