M.J. Burt Joins Pearce

NEW HAVEN - One of the region's most prominent businesswomen in recent memory, Mary Jane Burt, will join longtime friend Barbara L. Pearce, president of H. Pearce Co., Realtors, as a residential sales associate in Pearce's New Haven office.
Burt was president of Burt Medical Laboratory for 15 years and more recently was a partner of the Hamden-based Laurel Group. In addition, Burt served as director of intergovernmental affairs for the National Development Council in Washington D.C., a public-sector mortgage banking firm and district administrator for Stephen J. Solarz, a Democratic congessman from Brooklyn who served from 1975-93.
A resident of Hamden, Burt serves on many professional business boards including; Chair of the Council For Women's Health Research at Yale, the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven and Birmingham Utilities Inc.
She has also has served as a director of the Foote School, a member of the Progress Council for the state of Connecticut, and a member of the Advisory Board at Quinnipiac College School of Business.
