Deadline Looms for Disaster-Assistance Loans

HARTFORD - The state of Connecticut now constitutes an eligible zone for disaster-assistance loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) for businesses affected by the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development has announced. Small businesses can contact the SBA at 1-800-659-2955, and they have until Jan. 22 to apply.
Any small business that cannot meet its financial obligations or pay its necessary operating expenses because of the terrorist attacks or any related federal action taken between Sept. 11 and the effective date of this program's regulations may be eligible.
