ESSEX - Essex Savings Bank announced that community organizations will receive $62,080 from the “directors' portion” of the bank's Community Investment Fund. This comes in addition to the $47,000 distributed as a result of customer balloting earlier this year.
This is the sixth year of the program, which by year's will have distributed nearly $1 million since it began. Beneficiaries included: the Connecticut River Eagle Festival in Essex (a $5,000 gift), Lyme's Youth Service Bureau in Old Lyme ($5,000), and the Valley Shore YMCA in Westbrook ($5,000 also).
