WALLINGFORD - VBrick Systems Inc., which creates DVD-quality video networking appliances, has announced the availability of its Video on Demand Server (VBVoD). This system, designed for applications including distance learning, corporate training and news distribution, streams high-quality video to the desktop, TV monitors, projectors and other standard video display devices. The VBVoD allows users to drag-and-drop MPEG video files from any PC in the network for instant availability of video on demand.
VBVoD assigns privileges to users to identify content that can be viewed, adding/deleting users as necessary and allowing for password protection and management.
A unique capability of the VBrick VBVoD is the ability to view stored video files on both PC screens and TVs. The product includes programming guide capabilities and an optional IR remote control for controlling the video stream.
