By: BNH

Each year the Commercial Investment Division (CID) of the Greater New Haven Association of Realtors honors individual members who have posted notable professional milestones, large and small, during the calendar year.

On December 13 in a ceremony at 500 Blake Street Café in New Haven, commercial Realtors from throughout the region were cited for distinguished achievement during 2001.

Awards in 16 categories included: land lease, land sale, industrial lease, industrial sale, retail lease, retail sale, office lease, office sale, business sale, investment sale, “most unusual” sale, smallest transaction, largest number of transactions, the CID's Chairman's Award, Founders Award and Leadership & Dedication citation.

Veteran Levey Miller Maretz broker William Silverman, received Business New Haven's Community Service Award given annually to a CID Realtor for outstanding service to the community.

“Many of us who know Bill admire him as a tireless advocate for downtown New Haven's commercial vitality whose enthusiasm for its future is contagious to us all,” says BNH Editor Michael C. Bingham. “He's fighting the good fight - and winning.”

“He is recognized and respected by all of his peers,” said Fred R. Maretz, a founder of Levey Miller Maretz and past winner of the award. “He is absolutely devoted to his profession, this city and to doing the right thing. He is unquestionably a very knowledgeable real estate authority on, and booster of, New Haven in general - and downtown in particular.”

Well said.
