WALLINGFORD - VBrick Systems, which designs and manufactures DVD-quality video networking appliances, announced that its Video-on-Demand-Server (VBVoD) has been named a finalist in the Enterprise Network Infrastructure category of the Best of Show Awards by CMP Media's Network Computing, CRN, VAR and EE Times.
The VBVoD system, designed for applications including distance learning, corporate training and news distribution, streams high-quality video to the desktop, TV monitors, projectors and other standard video display devices. It allows users to drag-and-drop MPEG video files from any PC in the network for instant availability of video on demand. Users can then watch full-motion video on their desktops within their browser, controlling the playback to meet their needs.
The editors of Network Computing, CRN, VAR and EE Times, four of CMP Media's information technology publications, reviewed more than 100 submissions and selected finalists in five categories. By identifying innovative products debuted at Networld+Interop, the Best of Show Awards assist in the quest for creative Internet-enabled solutions.
Winners of the Best of Show at Networld+Interop 2002 Atlanta were to be selected at the show and announced at an awards ceremony at the Atlanta Convention Center.
