UConn Goes for the Gold ‹ Again

STORRS ‹ The University of Connecticut s Division of Athletics has announced a five-year sponsorship agreement that designates Cingular as the official wireless provider of UConn Athletics. The agreement provides Cingular exclusive wireless recognition at UConn athletic events held at Rentschler Field (the school s new football palace, scheduled to open next autumn), Gampel Pavilion and the Hartford Civic Center.
The agreement grants Cingular marketing and promotional rights through the 2006-07 UConn football and men s and women s basketball seasons. Cingular is permitted to use the University of Connecticut Athletics marks, names and logos in corporate communications and marketing materials and display signage and products at all home football and basketball games. In addition, Cingular will be able to use UConn Athletics event tickets for marketing purposes and promotions.
Further, Cingular will sponsor the Cingular Wireless Student Section at Rentschler Field, the new 40,000-seat stadium in East Hartford.
Last month UConn named People s Bank the official banking partner of Husky athletics.
