HARTFORD - The Hartford Financial Services Group hosted an October 15 kick-off reception for the newly formed Connecticut chapter of BusinessLINC, part of a national initiative to encourage collaboration between established business communities and minority- and women-owned business enterprise
The Hartford CEO Ramani Ayer is chairman of the national BusinessLINC organization, while John Giamalis, senior vice president and treasurer of the Hartford, will chair the new Connecticut chapter. The Business Roundtable, an association of CEOs of large corporations, leads BusinessLINC.
BusinessLINC was established in 1998 with the goal of stimulating more private sector B2B linkages. Since then 16 local coalitions have been formed and several more will be in place by early next year. A partnership between BusinessLINC and the Business Roundtable was established in 1999 when leadership passed from the U.S. Department of Treasury and the Small Business Association to the Business Roundtable.
