The New Haven Ravens, who for years have complained (with some justification) that they receive too little "support" from the local business community, have recruited an influential ally in Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce President Anthony P. Rescigno.
Last month Rescigno sent a letter to chamber members urging them to do more business with the Eastern League team, which next season will be affiliated with the Toronto Blue Jays.
Noting that, "Economically, they infuse millions of dollars into the local economy each year," Rescigno asked chamber members to reserve tables at the team's November 1 luncheon event.
"In addition," wrote Rescigno, "the Ravens offer value to your business in the form of advertising exposure to almost 200,000 spectators each season. Your support of the team will return benefits to you in the form of high visibility for your company and association with one of the region's premiere entertainment organizations."
