BRIDGEPORT - State Hardware & Industrial Supply, displaced from its long-time address because of a school construction project, will build a new facility near its old home. The business will construct its new store at 1406 State Street, nearby its previous home at 1321 State Street.
State Hardware, which services industrial and commercial customers, was evicted by the city from its longtime site to make room for construction of a new West Side school to replace Elias Howe School. The company has been in Bridgeport since 1931.
The new store will house some 10,000 to 12,000 square feet, about triple the previous facility. The building will sit on a half-acre of land.
