WARREN, N.J. - The costs associated with certain lawsuits from a housekeeper, nanny, cook or other domestic worker can now be covered under personal insurance coverage available from the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies. Chubb is offering employment practices liability coverage to its personal insurance customers in Connecticut, kicking off a planned multi-state product rollout.
Masterpiece employment practices liability coverage provides customers who employ five or fewer residential staff members with insurance for claims alleging wrongful termination, sexual harassment and employment discrimination. The policy will include coverage for reputational injury, which addresses the costs of hiring a public relations firm to help control reputation-related damage after (and, in some cases, before) a covered incident occurs.
