Tree Firm Shortens Name

HAMDEN - Alpine the Care of Trees, a national tree-service company with an office in Hamden, is dropping “Alpine” from its name. The Care of Trees (as it is now known) provides services for residential, commercial and municipal clients in the New York, Philadelphia, Washington, Chicago and San Francisco metro areas. Until recently it had used different names in several of its service areas.
With annual revenues of about $45 million and a workforce of nearly 500, the Care of Trees is the second-largest company in the world that focuses specifically on private and commercial arboriculture, according to a survey by trade magazine Lawn & Landscape.
