TRUMBULL - Oxford Health Plans has introduced a new online renewal tool called the Interactive Distribution & Electronic Administration (IDEA) management system. Through a multiyear agreement with Connecture, which makes Web-based sales-automation products for the health-insurance industry, Oxford will expand its online enrollment capabilities for brokers and employer groups. The system will be introduced in a number of phases, the first targeting online renewals for the HMO's small group accounts.
The small group market is very transaction-driven, which can be very time-consuming, especially for brokers who may have hundreds of Oxford renewals a month, said Kevin Hill, Oxford's executive vice president of sales and business strategy. Oxford developed the IDEA system to streamline and improve the purchase and renewal process to improve broker satisfaction and customer retention levels while saving time and money for all involved.
Oxford presently processes several thousand small group renewals each month, says the company, with some 25 percent of these requiring benefit design modification. The company introduced the system early in December and plans to release additional modules throughout this year and next.
