VNA to Offer Home Monitoring

HAMDEN - VNA Services has signed a partnership agreement HomMed, LLC of Brookfield, Wisc. to offer the latter's in-home monitoring technology in New Haven and Middlesex counties. Telemonitoring collects clinical data such as heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation levels, weight and temperature from a patient's home. VNA Services is using the system to treat patients with hypertension, congestive heart failure and chronic pulmonary obstructive disease, as well as patients with other cardiac or respiratory conditions. The HomMed system is offered at no charge to medically suitable Medicare patients and at a nominal fee to others, according to VNA officials.
