ROCKY HILL - The Connecticut Clean Energy Fund (CCEF) has awarded Proton Energy Systems $1.5 million to hasten development of the company's Unigen fuel-cell product line. The company, which says it will move to Wallingford next year, will reimburse the CCEF through sales of the renewable energy source. The cells combine Proton's hydrogeneration technology with a fuel-cell power generator to create a product able to produce and store hydrogen fuel to generate power at a later time.
