| CLINTON - Developer Walter J. Lewis Jr.'s last salvo in his long legal battle against the town for allowing construction of the Clinton Crossing Factory Outlets appeared to have come to naught last month in Superior Court. Judge Robert F. McQueeny rejected Lewis' request to invalidate Clinton Crossing's site plan approval and wetlands permit. The $32 million retail center on Route 81 opened in 1996 following a contentious public-hearing process and a coalition of neighbors funded in part by Lewis that resulted in some 20 lawsuits and administrative actions.
