JA Honors Three

HARTFORD - Junior Achievement of Southwest New England inducted three local business and community leaders into its Business Hall of Fame earlier this month. At a scheduled March 6 dinner at the New Haven Lawn Club, JA announced that it would honor:
- Carlton Highsmith, who founded Specialized Packaging in 1983. Today the largest minority-owned manufacturer of paperboard packaging in North America has annual sales in excess of $100 million.
- Claire Criscuolo, who founded Claire's Corner Copia in New Haven in 1975 with her husband, Frank. Criscuolo was also cited as Business New Haven's 2002 "Small-Businessperson of the Year."
- Anthony P. Rescigno, president of the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce, executive director of the Regional Leadership council and former North Haven first selectman.
With offices in Branford and Hartford, Junior Achievement if Southwest New England provides programs to some 25,000 students in every Connecticut county save Fairfield.
