| STORRS - The 20th annual Connecticut Invention Convention (CIC) will take place April 5 at the University of Connecticut. As part of the event students from across the state will have an opportunity to interact with their peers and explain their inventions to "judges" from business, industry and organizations. Companies such as SBC/SNET, GE Industrial Systems, Northeast Utilities, United Technologies and others are sponsoring this opportunity for students in grades K-12 to showcase science and engineering inventions. Begun in 1983, the Connecticut Invention Convention (CIC) is designed to develop, encourage and enhance critical thinking skills through stimulating hands-on invention activities.
