Magazine Names Yale Docs Among Top Tier

NEW HAVEN - New York magazine has included 55 Yale School of Medicine physicians on a list of the top doctors in the New York metro area for 2003. Spanning specialties from cardiology to dermatology and geriatrics and surgery, the list serves as a guide for patients seeking the best in medical care.
"We are delighted that this list includes so many of our physicians in almost every specialty," said Yale Medical Group Director David Leffell, M.D., professor of dermatology and chief of dermatologic surgery at Yale School of Medicine. "Yale is proud of the quality of its clinical services, and it is rewarding to see that our efforts are appreciated."
The magazine collaborated with Castle Connolly Medical, a research and publishing company. New York-area physicians completed a survey that asked them to nominate top doctors in almost every specialty. Castle Connolly then refined the list based on interviews with specialists, chiefs of service and other hospital personnel.
