On the awards front: The Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce's redesigned membership brochure earned an ACE Award for Merit from the American Chamber of Commerce Executives. The same piece garnered a Gold Mercury award from the southern Connecticut and Connecticut Valley chapters of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA)
.Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Connecticut earned third-place honors in the 2003 Best of Blue Marketing & Communications Awards by the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association. The award cited the "State of Connecticut RFP" campaign in the Marketing Publications category
.New Haven's Allegra Print & Imaging was cited by the Allegra Network as a member of the franchise system's Master's Club, comprising the top ten percent of franchisees based on sales volume and operational benchmarks.
A series of B2B ads for Danbury's Sealed Air Corp. by the Leverage MarCom Group of Newton were chosen as most effective in their market category, garnering three Harvey Communication Measurement Awards in three years. The three full-page color ads for Instapak foam-in-place packaging systems were reviewed and ranked by the readers of trade publication Industrial Equipment News
.Cronin & Co. of Glastonbury nabbed no fewer than nine awards at two regional PR competitions, including three from the Connecticut Valley chapter of PRSA and six from the Publicity Club of New England. Among the latter were two Bell Ringer awards for Special Publication (a McDonald's Fantastic Scholastics education information packet) and Marketing Communications Campaign (on behalf of the state Department of Revenue Service's 2002 tax-amnesty program
