ROCKY HILL - Connecticut Innovations Inc. (CII), the state's leading investor in high technology, announced the formation of the Connecticut BioSeed Fund to accelerate the growth of early-stage biotech enterprises in Connecticut. The $5 million fund addresses a gap in financing resources available for very early stage biotech enterprises. Initial investments in such companies will range up to $500,000 and are based on criteria that include the strength and depth of intellectual property, track record of the company's scientific and business leaders and the potential of the business opportunity. The CII-managed fund will have access to an advisory panel of industry experts.
