L&T To Shutter 2 CT Stores

| MERIDEN — The May Co. will close its Lord & Taylor stores in Meriden and Manchester, the company said in late July. The closings are among 34 stores nationwide slated to be shuttered by the May unit. It said that they generally were weak performers, representing 38 percent of the chain’s stores but just 19 percent of its sales. Lord & Taylor has operated a 92,000-square-foot store at Westfield Shoppingtowne Meriden (formerly Meriden Square Mall) as well as a larger store at Buckland Hills Mall in Manchester.
