| CLINTON — Housewares retailer Crate & Barrel has lost its lease and will close its only Connecticut store, located at Clinton Crossing Premium Outlets, following the Labor Day holiday. Company officials say they were outbid in efforts to renew the lease on C&B’s 10,000-square-foot store, which it has occupied since Clinton Crossing opened in 1996. The space will instead house a new Calvin Klein store. According to published reports Crate & Barrel employs about 30 workers in Clinton, a few of whom will move to C&B stores in Rhode Island and Westchester County, N.Y. Clinton Crossing is owned by Chelsea GCA Realty, based in New Jersey.
