NEW HAVEN After five years of supporting leading-edge research to better understand womens health, Womens Health Research at Yale will host a reception at Sage Restaurant American Grille & Oyster Bar in New Haven on September 29. The event will celebrate the plethora of accomplishments that are saving womens lives.
The organizations mission is to foster the initiation of cutting-edge investigations in womens health that facilitate the integration of research findings into personal and clinical practice and result in direct practical benefit for women. The dream of Carolyn Mazure, director, this is the only interdisciplinary program dedicated to researching womens health issues in the country. Through its grant-making arm, the Ethel F. Donaghue Womens Health Investigator Program, researchers determined that womens heart attack symptoms differ from those of men, findings that initiated the Womens Heart Advantage Program. The Investigator Program has provided over $3 million to over 40 investigators.
