| BRIDGEPORT - The WorkPlace Inc., southwestern Connecticut's Regional Workforce Development Board, has received the 2001 Workforce Investment Board of the Year award from the National Alliance of Business (NAB), a national business organization focused on improving competitiveness in the workforce. The award recognizes the WorkPlace as a leader in workforce development. Special citations included the organization's ability to initiate collaborations between education providers and employers to equip workers with skills necessary for growth and building and managing an innovative workforce system that promptly meets the needs of a changing business environment. There are 630 boards nationwide.
