FARMINGTON - Maier Advertising has created a direct mail piece to lure new business prospects to visit its Web site, maier.com. The B2B agency created a special section on its Web address that can be viewed, on the computer screen, in three-dimension. Maier mailed 3-D glasses in see-through plastic tubes to regional marketing personnel enticing them to take a look at an array of occupational "horrors" they're likely to encounter. Using old-time horror movie posters to make its points, Maier advises visitors about the daily hazards marketing executives face: like colleagues suddenly switching support for the exec's new idea when the CEO matter-of-factly expresses displeasure with it ("Attack of the Puppet People") or when a self-appointed marketing expert advocates an off-the-wall ad concept ("It Came from Outer Space").
"Driving customers to your Web site continues to be a major marketing challenge not only for our own clients but for ourselves as well," said Bill Maier, agency president. "Using dimensional mail, we believe we've jumped ahead of the pack with this fun, creative approach that can't help but draw attention to a site."
Bryan Johnson was art director on the project. John Cook created the copy.
