NORWALK - Marketing/PR company eNR Inc. has added Blimpie International to its roster of PR clients. Last month eNR began implementing local PR campaigns for each of Blimpie's 1,600 franchise restaurants. The Norwalk firm's "Grassroots PR" program seeks to promote companies with multiple locations through local media, using "localized" versions of press releases quoting local proprietors and incorporating area content. Media pickup rates for such releases are higher, says eNR, because the news has hometown appeal. Other eNR restaurant franchise clients include Domino's Pizza and Ben & Jerry's.
eNR has also added big enough clothes, a U.S. designer of "European-style" children's clothing through direct sales, to its list of PR clients, and has begun promoting big enough's 600 representatives across 43 states. Says company president John Maisano, a former president of Revlon, "big enough has grown primarily through word-of-mouth and efforts of our sales force. eNR has made significant inroads in bringing greater local awareness to each big enough clothes area through local media articles."
