Environmental Firm Selects Milford Over Westport
EDR will move 200 jobs in mid-winter

MILFORD - A Westport-based environmental firm will relocating its corporate headquarters to Milford.
Environmental Data Resources will occupy 47,500 square feet of office space on the top floor at 440 Wheelers Farms Road in mid-February, said Shannon Lynch, a spokeswoman for CB Richard Ellis, the commercial real estate firm that brokered the deal.
About 200 employees will relocate to Milford with Environmental Data Resources, Lynch said.
The building is located along the Merritt Parkway near the Milford Connector. It is owned by Hines Interests LP, a Texas-based, privately held real estate development company, and Sterling Equities, a New York real estate firm.
Office space continues to fill up in that corridor despite the current economic downturn, said Robert Gregory, the city's community development director, in published reports.
"Two of the buildings there - Merritt Woods and Merritt Crossing - are already full," Gregory told the New Haven Register.
Two existing tenants at 440 Wheelers Farms Road relocated within the building in order to provide Environmental Data Resources with the space it needed on the fourth floor.
Wright Investors Service, an investment management and financial advisory firm, moved into 18,000 square feet on the second floor, and Aliquant Corp., a benefits provider, moved to 13,000 square feet on the ground level.
