SBC/SNET President and CEO Michele Macauda has been named a trustee of the Saint Raphael Healthcare System. She serves as a member of the Governor's Council of Economic Competitiveness and Technology in Connecticut, the Regional Leadership Council in New Haven and the advisory board of the Fairfield University School of Engineering.
Yale University historian Frank M. Turner has been named director of Yale's Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library. He has been serving as interim director of the library. Turner is a British and European intellectual historian and has written articles on Victorian intellectual life. His latest book, John Henry Newman: The Challenge to Evangelical Religion, was published by Yale University Press.
Eric Bronson, Ph.D. has been appointed assistant professor of sociology and criminal justice in the College of Liberal Arts at Quinnipiac University. He teaches courses including crime and society, race and ethnicity, the sociology of sports and prisons and jails. Bronson was an assistant professor at West Texas A&M University and was an instructor at Bowling Green State University.
The Connecticut Housing Finance Authority named Timothy H. Coppage vice president of housing development. He will oversee the administration and management of single-family mortgage lending and multifamily rental housing development activities. Coppage is the former deputy commissioner for the state's Department of Economic & Community Development. He earned his MBA in Management/Finance from the University of Hartford.
Mike Harris has been appointed to the board of directors of the New Haven Manufacturing Association. He is an engineer and account manager for the Connecticut State Technology Extension Program (ConnSTEP).
FleetBoston Financial (FBF) named Jeffrey Klaus and John Blackwell as co-presidents for the New Haven/New London/Norwich area, with responsibilities for strengthening Fleet's performance and community presence. Klaus is the senior vice president and market manager for mid-Connecticut in the Business Financial Services unit of FBF. Blackwell is a senior vice president and district manager of Fleet's store network in southeastern and eastern Connecticut.
The board of the Connecticut Health Foundation (CHF) has named Lynelle Thomas, M.D., director of the Yale-New Haven Hospital Emergency Department, Child Psychiatry Consultation; Arthur Evans Jr., deputy commissioner of the state's Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services and an associate clinical professor at the Yale University School of Medicine; and W. Renata Dixon, president of Dixon & Company Affiliated Inc., directors. Also, David Ormsted, former state assistant attorney general and counsel to the Commissioner of Consumer Protection, has been appointed to CHF's community advisory committee.
BL Companies President Robert Landino has been inducted into the University of Connecticut's Founders Society. Landino is among 54 individuals to be cited for their contributions to UConn over the past year. Landino's contributions will be used to support facilities development, operating expenses and scholarship funds for the university's athletic programs.
Quinnipiac University has appointed Karin Schwanbeck assistant professor of journalism in the School of Communications. She will teach broadcast journalism, oversee the production of a weekly student newscast and launch QU's first chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ). Schwanbeck has 13 years of professional broadcasting experience and ten years' experience in higher education.
Frederick John Lamp has been appointed the first Frances and Benjamin Brenson foundation curator of African Art at the Yale University Art Gallery. He is currently curatorial department head for Arts of Africa, Asia, the Americas & Oceana at the Baltimore Museum of Art.
Jennifer Donath has joined Sound Ear, Nose & Throat in the company's Trumbull office. She specializes in testing procedures and rehabilitation programs. Donath earned an M.S. in communicative disorders from the University of Rhode Island.
Debra Bautista has joined Weinstein & Anastasio P.C., as staff accountant. She earned her Certificate in Professional Accounting from Quinnipiac University and her bachelor's degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
The CHEST Foundation has named Richard S. Silverman, M.D., FCCP of Waterbury one of 22 recipients of the 2003 Governors Community Service Awards at its "Making a Difference" Awards dinner in Orlando, Fla. Silverman is the creator and medical director of the Home to Home Foundation, where he is responsible for coordinating volunteers, developing projects, planning events and counseling patients.

Bruegger's Enterprises Inc. has named James J. Greco of Cheshire chief executive officer. He has more than 12 years of food industry experience and previously served as CEO of Fieldbrook Farms Inc. in New York.
Calcagni Associates has announced the appointment of residential sales associate Dave Drumheller to the company's North Haven office. He served as the national director of real estate and facilities for the Deregulated (Sonecor) Division of SNET
