TRUMBULL - Perimeter Internetworking has acquired Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Internet Threat Management Technology (ITM), an Internet security company specializing in protecting corporate networks from cyber-attacks. The two companies will continue to exist as separate brands, although ITM's intrusion-detection technologies will be leveraged across Perimeter's client base. Conversely, Perimeter services such as its Virus D defense services and e-mail and Web filtering will be marketed to ITM's customer base.
Based in Trumbull, Perimeter's infrastructure services include firewall, intrusion defense and virus protection as well as user-based reporting and filtering services. Terms of the transaction were not made available.
