Janet Dombroski has been appointed assistant professor of nursing in the School of Health Sciences at Quinnipiac University. She worked as a clinical nurse specialist concentrating in medical telemetry at New Haven's Hospital of Saint Raphael, and 13 years as a faculty instructor in clinical, classroom and laboratory settings at Bridgeport Hospital's School of Nursing.

Harold Hongju Koh has been appointed dean of Yale Law School. He has taught at Yale Law School since 1985 and served as assistant secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor. Koh has received more than 20 awards for his human rights work and was named by American Lawyer magazine in 1997 as one of America's 45 leading public sector lawyers under the age of 45. He is a graduate of Harvard College, Oxford and Harvard Law School.

Albertus Magnus College has named William More to head its master of arts in art therapy program. He is a registered, board-certified art therapist and served as clinical coordinator for the program. More is also president of the Connecticut Art Therapy Association and a former board member of the American Art Therapy Association. He earned his master's in art therapy from George Washington University.

The Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA) has promoted Mark Soycher to counsel and director of human resources services. He worked as labor and employment counsel for CBIA's HR services department. Soycher is a member of the Connecticut and American bar associations and serves on the executive committee of the Connecticut Bar Association's Labor & Employment Law section.

Edward O'Connor, associate dean of Quinnipiac University's School of Health Sciences, has been appointed to a three-year term on the Committee of Neuroscience Literacy of the Society for Neuroscience in Washington, D.C. The committee implements educational programs to enhance interest in neuroscience. O'Connor earned his doctorate in pharmacology, toxicology and neuroscience from Albany (N.Y.) Medical College.

HSS Inc. has named Anthony R. Guarascio chief financial officer. With more than 27 years of executive business experience, Guarascio most recently served as senior vice president and CFO of SS&C Technologies Inc. He is a director of Boys & Girls Village.

Christina Bliven has joined People's Bank as first vice president for financial analysis, responsible for management accounting. She was controller at United California Bank in Los Angeles.

The Ethel F. Donaghue Women's Health Investigator Program at Yale awarded research grants to three Yale scientists. Akiko Iwaski, assistant professor in the department of epidemiology and public health, will research gender differences in infection and immunity to genital herpes. Donna M. Neale, M.D., assistant professor in the department of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive services, will study high blood pressure during pregnancy. Julie K. Staley, assistant professor in the department of psychiatry, will research hormone influences on smoking.

Linda Bruner, CEO of Bruner Consulting Associates Inc., has been named to Wachovia Bank's Business Banking Customer Advisory Board for a 24-month term. Bruner was awarded the Certified Management Consultant designation by the Institute of Management Consultants.

Mark Matlosz, MS, CPA has joined Cohen, Kaufman & Associates LLC. in Milford. He was a tax manager for a CPA firm and served as a consultant with PriceWaterhouseCoopers, LLP. Matlosz earned his M.S. in taxation from the University of Baltimore.

The Norwich Navigators baseball club, AA Eastern League affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, has hired Bob Garguilo to work in the club's business-development department. Garguilo previously served as assistant general manager and director of marketing/public relations for the New Haven Ravens baseball club. He was the top sales producer for two consecutive years with the Ravens. Garguilo is a member of the Walter Camp Football Foundation's board of governors and is a consultant for the Heisman Trophy Foundation.

BL Companies have announced that Steve McNeece, project manager 3, Robert Braren, project manager 2, and Peter Amara, project architect, have joined the company's headquarters in Meriden.

H. Pearce Co., Realtors, has named Sarah Winston a residential sales associate in its New Haven office. She has more than 25 years of real estate experience. Winston holds the accredited Graduate of Realtors Institute and Accredited Buyers Representative designations.
