HARTFORD - Connecticut communities authorized 766 new housing units in November, a 0.6-percent decrease over the previous November, and a 31.7-percent decline from the month before. Year-to-date permits are up 1.7 percent, however, from 9,002 through November 2002 to 9,156 through November 2003. New Haven County saw the largest number of authorized units, 178. Among individual municipalities, Milford led the way with 69 new units approved, followed by Trumbull, with 34 for the month. Among all the state's Labor Market Areas (LMAs), however, only Bridgeport and Danielson posted net gains, of 83 and seven, respectively. Complete housing starts data is available at www.decd.org.
