STRATFORD - A new thrift store at the site of the old Town Fair at the corner of Stratford Avenue and Honeyspot Road will sell low-cost home-supply items and appliances such as cabinets, flooring, fireplace fixtures, insulation, plumbing, roofing materials, skylights, windows and tubs. Known as ReStore, the facility is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Bridgeport. Proceeds will benefit Habitat, which assembles groups of volunteers to construct homes for low-income families.
ReStore's mostly donated items will sell for 50 to 90 percent off retail cost. The Stratford store is the latest of several ReStore shops across the nation. Most of the store's workers are volunteers. ReStore will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Thursday hours will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
