The Connecticut Venture Group (CVG) has placed a call for entries to its 11th annual Crossroads Venture Fair, slated for April 27-28 at the Omni New Haven Hotel at Yale.
New England's largest venture-capital event, Crossroads last year attracted some 700 attendees, including 170 investors with $5 billion under management, according to CVG officials.
The year 50 companies will be selected to exhibit and pitch their companies to potential investors. Selected companies get three minutes to tell their story, followed by a 15-minute breakout session in a private room with interested investors.
Other benefits include application feedback, exhibit space at the event, inclusion of company's executive summary in the conference materials and generous networking opportunities.
In the past, 30 percent of Crossroads presenters received funding, according to CVG, raising on average about $2.5 million each.
Applications will be reviewed by a panel of VC investors, who will provide professional feedback on the plans. Application fee is $100; selected companies must pay an additional $390 to participate in the event.
