New Group for Non-Profit Execs

NEW HAVEN - The Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce is looking to organize executive directors from non-profit agencies into a non-profit council within the chamber. Albert May, director of development and public relations at Christian Community Action, a local non-profit social services agency serving homeless families, will chair the effort.
"In addition to providing non-profits with a vehicle to share ideas and concerns and to learn more about the chamber, the new council would also offer an avenue for them to dialogue with chamber business members on possible ways to collaborate on projects designed to increase their operational efficiency by learning about some of the best practices of the business world," explains May.
Adds chamber President Tony Rescigno: "By forming this Council, we hope to give our members a place where they can meet and share mutual concerns, and collectively address those concerns. The council will give our non-profit members an opportunity to learn more about how the chamber can help its non-profit members."
