Business New Haven

After a decade of being a non-functionary-that is, not attending functions, events, banquets, awards ceremonies-I took a shot at Business New Haven's [February 25] Business & Civic Awards Luncheon at 500 Blake Street Café.
The place was mobbed. You can usually gauge the degree of success of an event by the difficulty in finding one's coat on the way out. And the interest level in the room was electric.
Both [Publisher] Mitchell Young and [Editor] Michael Bingham, together with their staff which included Robert Harris, Ronni Rabin and Francesca Wood, should have picked up an award for themselves. I can't think of another publication as devoted to the prosperity of New Haven business as this team.
The fact that Business New Haven has survived ten years in a city that has been a graveyard for similar "business" publications is a statement in itself.
Continued good luck, guys. You have reached one person ready to shed his chrysalis for the next event.
