Osman Kilic, associate professor of finance at Hamden's Quinnipiac University, has been named executive director of QU's new Terry W. Goodwin Financial Technology Center. He will be responsible for integrating use of the center into the curriculum of the university's business courses, forming the center's advisory board and presenting the educational benefits of a simulated financial trading room. Kilic has taught at QU since 1997. He earned a doctorate in finance from the University of New Orleans.
Prudential Connecticut Realty (PCR) has promoted Chris Cooke to vice president of operations for the shoreline region. Cooke joined PCR as vice president of corporate relocation services in 1998. His division won national awards from Prudential Real Estate & Relocation Solutions including the Group Move Support Award, the Client Referral Program Award and the Spirit of Partnership Award. In addition, Cooke earned the Relocation Director of the Year Award in 2002.
Tim Kelly has been named general manager of the new independent Northeast League baseball team, the New Haven County Cutters. This is Kelly's sixth sports position since his graduation from the University of Iowa. Kelly has worked in sales and marketing and assembling staffs for teams including the Sioux City (Ia.) Explorers, El Paso (Tex.) Diablos, Memphis Maniax of the XFL and the National Basketball Development League's Asheville (N.C.) Altitude.
Stephanie Demont has joined Carter Mario Injury Lawyers as vice president of operations for the firm's offices in Milford, Hartford and Waterbury. She previously worked as operations manager for the Hartford in Shelton. Demont earned her J.D. from Quinnipiac College School of Law in 1997.
Gaylord Hospital in Wallingford has appointed Bruce Dalstrom as director of human resources. He will oversee the hospital's employee relations, compensation, benefits, management and staff development, recruitment and employment. Dalstrom has 25 years of experience in HR management for health care. Most recently, he served as vice president of human resources for St. Francis Care in Hartford.
The law firm of Carmody & Torrance LLP has named Domenico Zaino Jr. a partner of the firm. He counsels and represents public and private employers in labor and employment law. Zaino is a member of the labor and employment sections of the Connecticut and American Bar Associations and serves as a director of the Children's Community School in Waterbury.
The Homebuilders Association of New Haven County has elected Bob Bankowski as president. He is the owner of Improvements Plus Inc. in Hamden and is a volunteer with that town's Office of Emergency Management. Bankowski serves as a director of the Homebuilders Association of Connecticut and the National Association of Homebuilders.
The Adelman Travel Group has promoted David M. Rifkin to senior vice president of corporate sales. He will oversee sales and marketing in the company's Ansonia office and support regional sales efforts.
Weinstein & Anastasio, PC has hired Michele Baum as marketing director and consultant, and Tom Vanghel as a tax manager. Baum has more than 15 years of marketing experience in accounting, legal and not-for-profit communities. Vanghel has public accounting experience with both national and regional firms. He earned his M.S. in taxation from Golden Gate University.
New Haven-based firm Cama Inc. has hired Javier Ferro, Jill Balash and Michele Martinez as designers. Ferro has experience in health care, retail and residential design. He is an associate member of the American Institute of Architects. Balash is a 1998 graduate of Teikyo Post University in Waterbury. Martinez has four years of corporate interior-design experience including high-end residential, urban community housing and historic renovation.

The marine insurance firm of Gowrie, Barden & Brett (GBB) in Westbrook has named Sarah Davidson boat producer. She will service boat and yacht owners throughout the U.S. and will oversee GBB's One Design Insurance Program. Davidson previously held positions in insurance and financial services and has served on the boards of non-profit organizations including the U.S. Optimist Dinghy Association and Horizons of New Canaan.
The Greater New Haven Association of Realtors has presented Gary Damato of Press/Cuozzo Realtors with its Quarterly Achievement Award for the fourth quarter of 2003. He has been a Realtor since 1988 and specializes in bank-owned properties.
Levey Miller Maretz Commercial Realtors of Woodbridge has hired Matthew Short, Dina Nocerino and Noah Meyer. Short has worked with New Haven Livable City Initiative, former U.S. Rep. James Maloney (D-5) and the Chelsea Co. Nocerino has experience in real estate sales, construction and property management. She earned a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts. Meyer was employed as an account executive with Microwarehouse. He is a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University.
H. Pearce Co., Realtors has hired Frank Dahlmeyer and Carol Ann Dahlmeyer as residential sales associates in Pearce's Branford office. They have more than ten years' experience owning their own business as well as previous real estate experience.
