Martie Dwyer has been named director of retail banking for Citizens Bank in Connecticut and Rhode Island. She joined Citizens in 1996, recently serving as regional president of s.e. Massachusetts and Cape Cod.
U.S. Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist has appointed Wiggin & Dana partner Mark R. Kravitz to serve a three-year term as a member of the Standing Committee on Rules of Practice & Procedure of the Judicial Conference of the U.S,. Kravitz also services, by the appointment of the chief justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court, on Connecticut's advisory committee on appellate rules and by appointment of the chief judge of the second circuit. He heads Wiggin & Dane's appellate practice group. Wiggin & Dana has offices in New Haven, Hartford and Stamford.
Robert A.M. Stern, dean of the Yale School of Architecture, has received the Presidents Award from the New York chapter of the American Institute of Architects. The J.M. Hoppin professor of Architecture at Yale is founder and senior partner of the New York firm of Robert A.M. Stern Architects. He is the author of several books in contemporary architecture, architectural history and the architecture of New York.
Carol Smullen has been named development director of Easter Seals Goodwill Industries Rehabilitation Center in New Haven. She previously worked with the Connecticut Trails Council of the Girl Scouts. Smullen was previously an allocations associate for United Way of Greater New Haven, director of the New Haven Fresh Air Fund, educational coordinator and camp director for the West Rock neighborhood Corp. and art instructor at Richard C. Lee High School.
Kimberlee Morton has been appointed assistant general manager of CTTransit. A graduate of Southern Connecticut State University, she will be responsible for finance, human resources, purchasing and contracting, claims and information technology departments. Morton previously worked for the Greater Bridgeport Transit Authority for 16 years.
Marilyn Concepcion has joined the Easter Seals Goodwill Industries Rehabilitation Center in New Haven as special-projects coordinator. She will be responsible for implementing fund-development activities, volunteer programs, communications, marketing and public affairs. Concepcion previously worked for City Year, a community-service organization for young adults.
HealthIS of Wallingford has named Shane Wood national sales representative for the Southwest region, where he will serve clients seeking information management solutions for ambulatory surgery centers, surgery hospitals and physician practices. The Fairfield resident earned a bachelor's degree from Eastern Connecticut State University.
H. Pearce Co., Realtors' Michael Sexton has been named 2001 Realtor of the Year by the Middlesex Shoreline Association of Realtors in Old Saybrook. With Pearce since 1982, Sexton is vice president and training director of the company's Branford office. Cited for his activity with the Shoreline and Mid-Shore Board of Realtors, Sexton has served on 14 committees as well as five committees on a state level and national level. He has also been an instructor of continuing education and principles and practices of real estate for both the New Haven and Mid-Shore Associations of Realtors.
Ed Torello has been hired as a residential sales agent for Calcagni Associates Real Estate's North Haven office. A graduate of the New Haven Real Estate School and Eli Whitney Technical School, Torello studied economics at Southern Connecticut State University. Previously he worked in the automotive-service industry in repair, customer relations and in service and parts management.
Paul Ruszczyk has been named chairman of the Franchise Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association for the 2001-02 term. A graduate of the Cornell Law School, Ruszczyk practices franchise and business law as well as franchise litigation in Cheshire.
Jason Munro has been named assistant director of student employment in career services for Quinnipiac University. He will be responsible for working with students to locate work-study and non-work study positions on campus. Munro previously served as director of social services for Bickford Health Care Center in Windsor Locks. He earned a B.S. in social sciences from SUNY/Stony Brook and a master's in health-care management and a certificate of advanced study in industrial organizational psychology from Springfield (Mass.) College.
The New Haven Ninjas Arena2 football club has named Rob Rosenberg corporate sales manager. He previously was marketing manager for the Nassau Coliseum. In addition, Jason Albrycht, formerly promotions assistant for the Lowell Lockmonsters AHL hockey club, and John Murphy, a 2001 Fairfield University graduate, were named ticket sales representatives. Also, Todd Degree has been named public- and community-relations manager. Degree previously was sports information director at Georgia State University and Centenary (La.) College.
Jeffrey Komornik has been named director of human resources for Milford Hospital. He previously was manager human resources for Norwalk Hospital and also worked in human resources at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport.
Patricia E. Magida has joined Webster Trust as senior vice president and senior investment advisor for Webster Financial Advisors, which offers investment, credit and fiduciary services for high-net-worth clients. Magida is also investment spokesperson for Webster Financial Advisors and manages investment portfolios. In investment management for 18 years, Magida was previously senior vice president for Fleet Investment Advisors. She has also held positions at BankBoston. Magida holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester and an MBA from George Washington University.
Barbara W. Brown has joined Webster Trust as senior vice president and senior relationship manager for Webster Financial Advisors. In the banking industry for 25 years, her new responsibilities include providing clients with financial advice and planning services regarding estates, taxes and retirement. Previously Brown was vice president and relationship manager for Fleet Financial's Private Clients Group. She has also held positions at BankBoston's Private Bank and Colonial Bank. Brown was graduated from the University of Vermont and attended the Williams College School of Banking's Trust Division.
Jeff Behuniak has been named manager of customer operations for Fire-Lite Alarms in Northford. Behuniak, who previously served as technical publications manager for the company, will oversee the technical support, customer service and technical publications departments as well as the customer training division.
