WBDC To Expand Service Area

The Women's Business Development Center (WBDC) has received a $100,000 grant from the state to enhance its existing operation in Stamford as well as to expand its service area into the Bridgeport and New Haven regions. The funds will help the WBDC replace existing federal funding, set to expire in 2003.
The non-profit WBDC seeks to promote economic independence and entrepreneurship for females through comprehensive training, business assistance, networking and access to capital. At present it is partially funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration's Office of Women's Business Ownership (OWBO) and the Office of Financial Assistance.
