NEW HAVEN - Following a statewide search including more than a dozen institutions of higher learning, Southern Connecticut State University has been named the official “LabPort” for the state's BioBus, a 40-foot mobile science learning center scheduled to begin operations this month. SCSU will be responsible for storing reagents and other supplies for the vehicle, as well as being involved in the design and testing of new experiments to be used in the program. The BioBus is modeled after CityLab, a program of the Boston University School of Medicine. It is outfitted with state-of-the-art scientific equipment and supplies to present middle- and high-school students with hands-on experience in the life sciences.
